Board of Directors

Philip Brew, MCC

A full-time professional coach for the past 12 years, and one of the leaders of the coaching profession in the UK, Philip came to coaching with more than 20 years’ intensive experience in personal and professional development.

From a diverse early background in New Zealand as an actor, teacher and university administrator, in his early 30s Philip managed a documentary film production company whose international projects focussed on psychological development and the roots of emotional intelligence.  Throughout his adult life he has continued to develop his understanding of the dynamics of individual development, and of productive group process.  He has intensive experience in counselling/psychotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), holding qualifications in both disciplines.

Since 1997 he has worked solely as a coach – primarily in the corporate sector, but also within his own private practice.  His corporate clients include CEOs, directors and senior management teams in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America.  Philip is skilled in assisting clients clarify their potential and resolve and remove personal barriers to excellence.  He is comfortable and effective in working at depth, creating clarity and personal alignment and resolving conflict, stress and limiting beliefs so that desired change becomes natural and inevitable.  He has a gift for clarifying complexity and for pinpointing the core of an issue, and an ability to understand at depth and without judgement, which creates safety to explore difficult issues.

Accredited by the ICF in 2004 as a Master Certified Coach, Philip is passionate about contributing to excellence and professionalism in coaching.  Based in London (UK), he is the co-founder of an ICF-accredited coach training programme (Coaching Development Ltd) and provides supervision, mentoring and coaching to professional coaches.  Philip is a past Co-President of the UKICF National Chapter, a credentialing assessor, and for several years served on the global Ethics and Standards Committee.
